This artist lives and works in Hawaii. She is inspired daily by nature. If you look closely each setting and/or detail is actually an imprint from a plant or natural find. It could be a tiny seed pod, a leaf, a branch, a piece of coral, and/or so much more. She actually creates small, intricate molds from the found natural items and then she pours silver and/or gold into the mold to create a piece. Even her small beads.

What is Gold Vermeil?

Gold vemeil jewelry is made with both gold and sterling. To be real "gold vermeil", the base material must be sterling silver. Sterling silver is a metal mixture made from 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. This precious metal is both a standard and valuable material. You may see it represented in jewelry with the stamp 925. The layer with gold plating must be at a minimum of 10k gold, but it can be any combination of 14k and 24k gold. The gold plating must be at least 2.5 microns thick. A micron is 1/1000th millimeter.
