Ornament - Blown Glass - Mini Opossum

This adorable creature is hardly "playing possum." Opossums are well-known for their involuntary behavior of mimicking the look and smell of a dead animal when they feel threatened. Opossums are also unique for using their tail as a fifth limb as they climb, hang and balance.

Each figurative glass ornament produced by Old World Christmas is hand crafted in an age-old tradition using the same techniques that originated in the 1800's. Molten glass is mouth-blown into finely carved molds made exclusively for Old World Christmas, then a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. The ornaments are then hand-painted and glittered in a series of labor-intensive steps to achieve the beautiful creations.

Each ornament features the metal gold heart with the Old World Christmas artist mark.
