Pink Chalcedony is an opaque variety of Chalcedony. It is a silica mineral in a cryptocrystalline formation (as well as a member of the Quartz family). This mineral is only found in the form of masses and can range in color from light and dull pink, to bright shades of pink and light red. Pink Chalcedony is one of the rarer varieties of Chalcedony and is a heavily desired material by craftsmen across the globe. When cut and polished, the true color of the stone begins to shine through, showing one the depth of color Pink Chalcedony exhibits. There are only a few Chalcedony mines that actually have pink deposits within, the main source coming out of Brazil.
